Removal: Use a weeding fork (small, two-pronged, operated by one hand while kneeling). Gently pull the plant with the other hand. You can do this bare-handed.

Too difficult to remove?? Cut the top off before the flowers open. Spray with any glyphosate (Zero, Roundup, Hortico Weedkiller 360, etc. Non-brand names are cheaper. So are concentrates that you mix yourself, rather than “ready-to-use.”).
